Quick Mid Year update from the Board:
It took a little longer than expected but the Bridgewater Community Common Areas are under Greenville County Sherriff’s jurisdiction rights. Signs have been posted near the parking lot and pool entrance. This means that any incidents that take place in these areas, the sheriff’s department can be called and they have the right to act and enforce county laws on behalf of the neighborhood. In the past, someone from the community would need to be physically present to file any complaint/incident with the sheriff’s department. Our hope is when these isolated incidents occur, it will be easier for anyone in the neighbor to feel safe and comfortable to pick up the phone and request a member of sheriffs department respond appropriately. I would personally like to thank Jon Albright for his guidance in making this happen.
Also, I’m happy to announce that you will soon start to see some landscaping upgrades taking place here in Bridgewater. Starting next week the center islands on Bridge Crossing and Blue Danube will be receiving some much needed attention. Aesthetic boulders will be placed in the islands in place of the ornamental grass (and mostly weeds) that had taken over earlier this year. Later in August, the shrubs in front of the monuments at the entrance will be removed and replaced on both sides. In addition, spot lights will be added and both plaques will be repainted to restore them to their original condition. In order to accomplish this, the board made the decision to postpone the annual mulch replacement until next year, so there wouldn’t be any impact to the overall budget. Our goal is to update the roundabout in 2024 as well as explore upgrading our current landscaping provider to keep Bridgewater looking pristine year round. Big thanks to Christine Sebold for all her time and effort in making this happen.
Lastly, the board has been working very hard on exploring options for an overdue pool resurfacing following the 2023 season. I expect to have more updates within the next 30-60 days and will keep everyone looped in here when the details have been ironed out.
