Bridgewater Bulletin: August 2025

It has been another busy and productive summer in Bridgewater, and the Board wanted to take a moment to share a brief update on several important projects and initiatives happening throughout the neighborhood.

Retention Pond Project Completed
We are pleased to share that the retention pond project located behind Grand River Drive has been successfully completed. The beavers have been relocated, the sinkhole has been repaired, and the dam has been removed. Even better, the work was completed slightly under the projected budget.

The Board would like to extend a special thank you to Christine Sebold for her ongoing commitment and diligence in overseeing this long-overdue project. We are optimistic that these improvements will allow the ponds to operate at full capacity for the foreseeable future.

Pool Operations and Upcoming Maintenance
This summer has been exceptionally hot, and we hope everyone has had a chance to cool off and enjoy the pool. We are pleased to report that our new pool management company has done an outstanding job. We have experienced almost no downtime, and our inspections from DHEC have gone without any issues.

Looking ahead, we do anticipate the need for some off-season maintenance. A few of the concrete pads around the pool area have settled over time and may require re-leveling. Additionally, some areas along the pool edge have begun to deteriorate and expose rough surfaces. We are currently seeking quotes and are hopeful that these repairs can be made within the existing budget. We will continue to keep the community informed as more information becomes available.

Playground Installation Planned for Fall
We are excited to announce that the long-anticipated community playground is scheduled for installation this fall. A location behind the pool building has been selected based on favorable land grading and the ability to avoid any disruptions to the existing drainage systems.

Once the weather becomes cooler, we plan to reach out to residents who may be interested in volunteering to help with installing the border and assembling the play structure. More details will be shared closer to the installation date.

Upcoming Landscaping Projects
There are two small landscaping efforts planned for the fall season:

  1. Mulching the common area near the pool entrance where several trees were removed after last year’s hurricane. While the Board would eventually like to add additional shrubbery to this area, the absence of an irrigation system makes it difficult to ensure successful planting at this time.
  2. Removing the fallen tree behind the pool near the intersection of 417 and East Curtis Street. The Board believes this can be safely cut down internally, though we may seek assistance from volunteers to help remove the debris.

New Community Library Box
We are also pleased to announce that Bridgewater resident Jon Albright has secured a community library box for the neighborhood. This will be installed near the pool area once the ground conditions are more suitable for installation. If the library box proves to be popular and well-used, the Board may consider adding an additional one near the mailboxes on Red Orchid Drive.

Architectural Review Reminders
As a reminder, all exterior home improvements must be submitted for approval through the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) before beginning any project. The ARC has done a tremendous job of working collaboratively with homeowners and typically provides a decision within just a few days.

Requests can now be submitted directly online through our website

End-of-Summer Events
As summer winds down, we still have a one remaining food truck scheduled and movie night planned. Thank you to all the residents who have come out to enjoy these events and support the food vendors. We hope to see many of you at our final gathering before the school year begins!

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to the Board directly. Thank you for helping make Bridgewater a welcoming, vibrant, and beautiful place to live.
